DDU Customs Clearance
US inBound’s professionals will protect both you and your customer from virtually all hidden risks and potential penalties arising from improper DDU customs clearance. We are equipped with decades of combined experience in international shipping and partner with a wide network of independent licensed and certified customs clearance brokers, allowing us to handle any shipment.
About DDU
While DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) was officially replaced with the DAP (Delivered-at-Place) term by the International Chamber of Commerce, it is still widely used in international transportation. In the case of a DDU agreement, the buyer must handle customs compliance with all potential risks, taxes, and other costs associated with the shipment. At the same time, the seller is only responsible for safe and on-time delivery to the destination country.
DDU advantages
Unlike shipments under a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) agreement, DDU shipping provides plenty of benefits to the seller while putting more stress and responsibility on the buyer. The latter is responsible for the entire customs clearance process, paying all taxes and fees, and even handling last-mile delivery. On the other hand, the buyer gets more control over the shipment and is free to choose a desired carrier or complete the supply chain by themselves to save on shipping.
ABC of DDU
DDU shipments are easy to handle by a seller, yet more stressful and time-consuming to the customer. At US inBound, we can lend a hand to both the seller and customer by overseeing any DDU shipment without breaking the bank.
DDU steps we can handle:
- Picking up your shipment and delivering it to the destination.
- Guidance on customs compliance, including professional audit, filing, and paying fees and taxes.
- Last-mile delivery to your customer’s doorstep
